How do I connect my bank?

From the app, tap “Add Account” and follow the prompts to connect via Plaid. You’ll authenticate directly with your bank — Ghost Financial never sees your login credentials. The process takes about 60 seconds for most major Canadian banks.

Which banks are supported?

We support all major Canadian financial institutions through Plaid, including:

  • TD Bank
  • RBC Royal Bank
  • BMO Bank of Montreal
  • Scotiabank
  • CIBC
  • National Bank of Canada
  • Tangerine
  • EQ Bank
  • Desjardins

Support for additional credit unions and smaller institutions is added regularly. If your institution isn’t available, email us and we’ll let you know when it’s coming.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Ghost Financial uses read-only bank access — we can never move money or make changes to your accounts. Your banking credentials are never stored by us; they go directly to Plaid’s secure systems. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256), and stored in Canada. How does Ghost AI work?

Ghost AI analyzes your transaction history to surface insights — spending patterns, unusual charges, budget trends, and more. It uses Anthropic’s Claude model under the hood. Your data is sent to Anthropic’s API for processing and is not used to train their models. The insights are for informational purposes only and do not constitute financial advice.

How do I cancel my Ghost Pro subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). To cancel, go to your device’s subscription settings and cancel Ghost Pro from there. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period, and you won’t be charged again. You can also email us at support@ghostfinancial.app if you need help.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, at any time. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app. This permanently removes all your data from our systems within 30 days, including your transaction history, preferences, and bank connections. This action cannot be undone. Alternatively, email us at support@ghostfinancial.app and we’ll handle the deletion for you.

My bank connection stopped syncing. What should I do?

Bank connections occasionally need to be refreshed, especially if you’ve recently changed your banking password or enabled multi-factor authentication. Try reconnecting the account from the Accounts screen in the app. If the issue persists, email support@ghostfinancial.app with your bank name and we’ll investigate.

Is Ghost Financial available outside Canada?

Ghost Financial is currently designed for Canadian users and Canadian financial institutions. Our bank connectivity is powered by Plaid Canada. We do not officially support accounts outside of Canada at this time.
